GuidBenchBY SMARTFACT

FREE GUID AND UUID GENERATOR

Nano ID generator

Updated

Nano ID is a separate URL-friendly string identifier format. GuidBench generates it locally with cryptographic randomness and keeps letter case intact.

Free to use. No account, email address or trial. Your identifiers stay in your browser.

A generated case-sensitive Nano ID batch.
Keep the original letter case when reusing a Nano ID.

Choose a separate identifier format

Select Nano ID rather than UUID v4 or v7. Nano IDs are not compact UUIDs, and the UUID inspector does not validate them.

Nano ID chosen in the identifier selector.
Choose the identifier format deliberately.

Choose a batch quantity

Generate from 1 to 10,000 values. The supported identifier length is 8 to 64 characters. A shorter value gives fewer possible combinations and a greater collision risk; choose a suitable length for your use.

Nano ID quantity selected.
Quantity and identifier length are different choices.

Keep the letter case

Uppercase and lowercase letters are distinct in this format. Copy values without changing their case, and confirm the receiving system preserves it. Generation stays in this tab until you explicitly copy or download.

Generated Nano IDs retaining their original letter case.
Case is part of the value.

An identifier is not a secret

This workbench supplies identifiers, not passwords or access tokens. It has an independent bounded implementation of the identifier format and does not run an npm package for you.

MADE FOR DEVELOPERS AND INTEGRATORS

For developers, integrators and people checking exact values before using them in another system.

A USEFUL STARTING POINT

Keep short values exact

A short identifier is useful only when the receiving system preserves it. Keep case intact and choose a length suited to the number of values and collision risk in your application.

FROM QUESTION TO EVIDENCE

Three steps to a useful result.

  1. 01

    Select Nano ID

    Choose the separate identifier format.

  2. 02

    Set the quantity

Start with a small readable batch.

  3. 03

Preserve case when reusing each value.

A CONCRETE EXAMPLE

Case matters

An uppercase letter and its lowercase counterpart are different characters in a Nano ID. Do not apply UUID-style uppercase formatting to this separate format.

WHEN IDENTIFIERS JOIN YOUR WORKFLOW

Give identifiers a useful job.

GuidBench creates identifiers when you ask. These SmartFACT products help with the records and labels that use them.

LabelRules

LabelRules turns label requirements described in plain English into approved rules that select and check labels for each job. It starts with an invited trial.

BEFORE YOU START

A few practical answers.

Is Nano ID a compact UUID?

No. It is a separate identifier format.

Can I choose a shorter value?

Yes, from 8 to 64 characters. Shorter values increase collision risk.

Does the UUID inspector validate Nano IDs?

No. It can explain possible other formats without claiming to validate them.

Is an account required?

No. Generation is free and browser-local.

What are the current limits?

The generator supports UUID v4 and v7, ULID and Nano ID, not every UUID version. Nano ID length is 8 to 64 characters. UUID v7 uses a fresh random suffix for every ID by default, with no guaranteed order inside a millisecond. Its optional sequential mode keeps one timestamp and increments a random starting suffix across the whole set; each Generate starts a fresh set, with no guaranteed order between sets. ULID retains order within one tab, not across devices or tabs. UUID structure checks do not prove uniqueness, origin, secure generation or application suitability. The inspector accepts canonical, compact, braced and UUID URN text, with a maximum of 100,000 characters. It does not silently remove spaces or decode Base64. A compact UUID is 32 hexadecimal digits without hyphens; Nano ID and ULID are separate identifier formats. Possible other formats get explanatory hints, not a UUID validation result. Identifiers are not passwords or access tokens.

What happens to my data?

Generated identifiers and inspector input stay in this tab’s memory. Refreshing or closing the tab discards them. Copy writes to your clipboard; download creates a local file. The tool has no analytics or saved identifier history. These public pages offer optional analytics separately, under Analytics settings. Ordinary page and catalogue requests may be logged by the hosting provider. No identifier is placed in a URL or sent to SmartFACT.
